Wooden Boat Refurbishment Flying 15

And so after many late nights (and spare hours in the day) I finally got the Flying 15 wooden boat refurbishment finished.  Here are some  images from along the way.

Wet varnish (coat 2/5)… early days but progress being made.

The keen eyed reader will already have noticed the additional strengthening around the base of the mast to support the higher rig tensions used these days.  Also I wanted to be sure that the keel mountings were reinforced.

And finally, she was on a trailer and up to East Antrim Boat Club for her re-launch.

Like any 49 year old with great lines, she gets some admiring looks and even a bit of yachting jealousy, but best of all she goes like a cracker.
